How to delete uninstalled MS update

  johnem 23:34 21 Dec 07

I have just been setting up a new XP SP2 laptop and left it to do the mS updates, however the MS SQLServer 2005 Express Edition Service Pack 2 has failed to install. I have rebooted and re-downloaded and tried to install both automatically and manually. Is there a way to find and delete this download to prevent the Icon appearing in the taskbar?

There have been problems with some Microsoft updates.
Try downloading the driver again, disconnect from the internet, switch of your firewall and antivirus and try the install again.

Just tried that, still unable to install, just a pain.

Have you ever used a program called crap Cleaner, if you have use the tools/startupto remove it from startup, or use msconfig in the run box and see if there is an entry under startup if there is disable it.
Another option is to right click the start menu / taskbar / select the entry for the download and select always hide / then click OK.
