I have been told that to reinstall windows 98 over 2000 on a NTFS partition i have to delete the non dos partition and then create another one, format the HD and install 98. How can I do the following instructions?

Thanks

Boot with the Win2k CD and use it to format as FAT32.

Then install 98 from the CD.

Windows 98 will not beable to read files on the NTFS formatted partion.

If you want to start from scratch and reload win98se its easy if you have a 98 boot disk.
You need to back up any files on the HDD you may need later.

set the PC to boot from floppy, (in the BIOS) it may already be set that way if you see a message on first booting that says something like looking for system on floppy.

1. boot system with floppy in drive

2. select start system with CD ROM support.

3. at the A:\ prompt type format C:\ (this will reformat your drive to FAT32)

4. on completion of the format type e:\setup where e is the letter of your CD drive (remember your CD drive letter is push one letter forward by the RAM tools installed by the floppy drive.
