No, just take the existing battery out and put the new one in. I must say that I have never had to replace a battery in any of the computers that I have, and I have some really old computers like a 386 DX40 with a 540mb hard disk and 8mb of memory, running Windows 3.1 and still working. Why do you think you need to change the battery?
