How can my computer "broadcast e-mail address"?

When I was on the Internet at some point I received a warning that my "computer is broadcasting my e-mail address" and that someone might get access to my computer. How can it happen? How dangerous is it? How can I protect my computer from being "seen" by unwanted people?

It's an unscrupulous scam.

just delete these pop-ups.

The address being broadcast is your isp's server address. A home pc has a "mac address".
Its all just a con, to try and get you to buy cheap and nasty software.
