On my Asus the Euro symbol is on 4 with the dollar sign.

Alt Gr together with 4 gives €

Using T I M B O's answer you have to type the 0128 on the number pad to the right of the keyboard.

For Word -type 20AC then hold Alt and press X

But it is easier on my keyboard holding Alt Gr ands pressing 4. My keyboard has the € there.

"For Word -type 20AC then hold Alt and press X"

Where did you get that one from? I tried it out of disbelief and it worked!! I also tried 30AC, 10AC & 00AC and got several different "odd" characters. Do you have a list or a chart of the available characters please?

Word help is surprisingly useful. Type in keyboard shortcuts for international characters.
Keyboard shortcuts will bring up many, many more articles.
