I wonder if someone can help me. How can I tell if I have a DirectX compatible soundcard? I would like to buy some software which has this as a system requirement.

I am running XP and the soundcard seems to be a Conexant AMC Audio?

Thanks in advace for your help

You are running Windows XP which ships with DirectX 8.1 but to view it run dxdiag.exe which is found in c:\windows\system32 (here you can test the Direct 3D compatability)You can also update to DirectX 9

Start, Run, type in

dxdiag

and click OK.

This should tell you if DirectX doesn't like your card.

Just type dxdiag in run box and press enter click on sound tab
