How can i stop messenger/messages popping up?

Since i started up my computer i have been receiving meesages in pop up form from young women i don't know. I have disabled messenger i think but i am still getting these messages. How do i rid my computer from them completely?

You need to disable the Messenger Servise and MSN Messenger... click here Stop Windows Messenger Spam - will fix this problem.

Zone Alarm stops these by default I think.

There is a possibilty that you already have a firewall, but one that leaves the port open for Network Messages. As far as I know ZA does stop these messages.

Click Start > Settings > Control Panel > Click Performance and Maintenance > Click Administrative Tools > Double click Services Scroll down and highlight "Messenger" > Right-click the highlighted line and choose Properties. > Click the STOP button. > Select Disable or Manual in the Startup Type scroll bar > Click OK
