How can I save docs in JPEG and not Bitmap?

  litchy 22:54 04 Oct 04

I have Windows XP. When online, I used to be able to save documents or photos as JPEGs. Now, when I right click on the document (or photo) and click on SAVE PICTURE AS..., I'm given:

File name: unititled
Save as type Bitmap (*.bmp).

How can I get back to saving my documents as JPEGs?

Many thanks!!!

JPEG is for Images not DOCS. You should have a drop-down list to choose the format to save the file if not copy past into ether Word Processor or Image Program the choose Save As from File Menu in program then choose the file format to save in from the drop-down list

Empty your Temporary Internet Files folder from IE > Tools > Internet Options > General tab, click "Delete Files".

This is a recognised (by Microsoft) bug. Do as Maj says and that should clear it. You may have to restart IE.
