how can i check my sound card

I am having trouble get sound through to my contact on MSN .I think it may be a problem with my sound card(mine is a AC97)i am told I should have a full duplex rather than a half duplex.How do I check which one mine is?

AC97 should be full Duplex.

Please post more info about your system.

pcmoron thanks for your reply,not sure what info you req ,I have an E machine.system type X86-based PC,Windows ME installed,128mb Sync DRAM,128kb L2 Cache 66MHz system base,20GB Hard drive Ultra DMA,Intel Celeron764Mhz Processor,Sound Controller - AC97 Driver for intel(r)82801AA.
THe query re sound card stems from a problem I seem to be having trying to chat with friends on MSN,I can hear them but although my mike adio checks on my PC check out ok it does not work when I am in contact with my friends.Ichecked the MSN help line and it stated it could be a sound card problem ie,it should be full not half Duplex card >personally I don't think thats the problem its something else.

many thanks for your interest I have managed to sort the query by going to start-run and typing dxdiag(someone gave me the detail,I can't remember who,anyway it gave me all the info I needed,and much more,tha ac97 sound card by the way is full duplex .thanks once again
