Hi, please help, I have to give a presentation and I would like to amplify my voice through my laptop speakers. I have a microphone but I don't know what to do next. I can record my voice no problem but I want to amplify my voice in real time. Please help, yours gratefully, Ste.

Put a CD in your laptop and play it at full volume.

Unless it is a very unusual Laptop you will be able to whisper louder than the CD plays at.

If you want to do this professionally you will need a mic + amp + speakers. Amplifying your voice through a laptop would sound 'tinny' at best.

Unless you are speaking in an enormous auditorium you should be able to raise your voice sufficiently for people to hear without artificial amplification. In fact, a trick with presentations is to speak quietly at points where you want the audience to hang on your every word instead of everybody gawping at your slides / their watches / preparations being made for lunch and so on.
