How big partition for XP?

I'm thinking of doing a reinstall of my entire system, and was planning to create some partitions on the harddrive - I currently have only one. I want to put Windows on one single partition, and I'm wondering how much space I should allocate for that. Also, would it make sense to create a separate partition for the paging file?
I'm using Windows XP/SP2, and my hard drive size is ~120GB

It makes sense to have Partitions, as if you then make a Image of the C:\drive you can have a copy on the D:\ drive. for easy restore if you have problems. But if you are NTFS file system the size of partitions does not matter much other than the above, and for backups. while you burn to CDR for further security
