How to alter label on HDD that does not match

I am checking over a friends PC with a Soltek Motherboard SL 75KAV he has Windows Millennium Edition installed but he wants to go back to Windows 98 but when I try to fdisk it wont let go any further as the label does not match not sure how to alter so I can fdisk and format the Hard Drive............?

Any help would be appreciated

Whilst in Windows go to My Computer - right click on drive, properties - then change the label to something nice and straightforward.

Then retry the fdisk with the new label.
