Hotmail Query

  baldyx 21:09 03 Mar 08

I had an e-mail sent to me on my Hotmail e-mail address but the sender was actually my own e-mail adress !!
I know I did not send the e-mail to myself. The content of this e-mail was obviously
unsolicited or undesired .

Does this mean someone has hijacked my e-mail address?
How do I prevent this reoccuring?
In Hotmail I have reported this e-mail as a Phishing Scam.

just to be on the safe side. Not much can be done.

It's spam, just delete it. There is little you can do to prevent this.

If you've not already deleted it, try selecting it as "spam" and then send yourself an email. See what happens.

Any suggestions as to "why" this could have happened?

Always you a mixed username eg Bloggs68745, this reduces likely spam, I dont get ANY spam from hotmail and have been with them for 6 years or so. David
