I downloaded the Purplenova software from their website click here is a freeware and it allows hosting files/photos/audio/video etc form my
home and office PC..I did that for my new Picasa album of my trip.
but I want to know how secure will my home PC be once it turns to a web server? are there any chances of my PC getting hacked?
will I have to put up some security software?

I don't know of Purplenova, and I can't get your link to work. If it is what I think you mean, you don't need to download and install any software. I would have a look at "The Upload"
As I say without seeing the link I may be mistaken.

I have just found it on Google, it looks OK but wait and see what advice others offer.
