home networked computer can't access internet

I have a network with BT Voyager 2091 router 192.168.1.1 connected to desktop PC (192.168.1.3) via ethernet and laptop (192.168.1.2) connected via wireless. Both on Windows XP. All was fine except suddenly the desktop cannot access the internet!

Both computers can see each others shared drives and exchange files OK. Laptop connects to internet OK but desktop now does not!

I've compared all the Network connection settings but cannot find the cause. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Run the test if not.

Yep...and I had just installed the KB951748 patch.

Solved now. Many thanks.
