I have a PC running xp home that has my printer and scanner attached.
Laptop downstairs has xp proffesional. Both use 56k modem internet connection.
I have a dlink hub, and 2 cat 5 network cables. How do I set these so that I can use the printer, scanner etc, from downstairs?

If the cables are long enough use the XP network wizard. If not you will need a wireless gateway access point and wireless card for the laptop and hey presto.. again follow the XP wizard after installing the wireless card on the laptop.
