is this a hoax virus?

Just received an email from a friend who received it from a friend, who.....etc. Says there is a new virus, no name given, but says "It sends itself automatically to all contacts on your list with the title "A Card for You"." and then "virus destroys Sector Zero, thus permanently destroying the hard disk." It finishes by saying send this to all your contacts.
I'm sure this is a hoax. Can anyone else confirm this, please.

my "suggestion" as a novice? I take nowt as a "hoax" where viruses etc are concerned; delete the e mail, then advise your friend to thoroughly scan and check his machine.and check yours too. but am sure the computer wizzards on the forum will have "more to say" on this:)

Thanks, VoG™; that's just what I expected. I'll pass it on to the friend who sent me the "warning".
