Hilighting on Laptop wont work?

  Ex plorer 16:00 01 Dec 13

Hi I seem to have lost Highlighting text to copy in word, on line, in fact every where. (Also Drag & Drop is becoming dificult)

Also lost the ability to use Drawing in Open Office by clicking on shapes.

Its a laptop running Vista, Its OK with a USB mouse connected, so what have I inadvertently switched off on the laptop touch-pad or left click.

Left click works OK on all other functions as does the touch-pad.

Check touchpad drivers? Your problem would seem to be that you haven't lost high-lighting as you can do it with a mouse but that you have a touchpad snag.

Thanks Woolwell Checked the drivers all was well, its taken the past three hours trying to fix the problem.

In the end I switched from left to right handed, and eventually both buttons started to work.

Switched back to Left hand Apply and OK and all is well again.

Thanks for your help.
