High frequency noise in headphones

Hey guys,

I've had the same problem for the last year or so, that every time I launch a game or certain programmes, I can hear a high pitch "eeeee" sounds coming through my headset. The pitch of this noise (and the volume) change if I change the frame rate, or if the image on the screen changes and also if the mouse moves over different visuals. The microphone on my headset also picks up this noise, and people on skype or teamspeak can hear a loud buzzing noise coming through.

I have a ASUS P8H67 motherboard and currently am not using an additional soundcard.

I've read that this can be due to interference, but different websites say different things. Help please!!

Would purchasing a soundcard solve the issue?

I suspect interference is the problem too. A soundcard might well fix the problem. Order from somewhere like Amazon, with a good returns policy, so you can return the card if it doesn't fix the problem.
