hide/delete hotmail folders on Windows Live Mail

This is a long shot I think:
Is it possible to hide or if necessary delete folders which have been downloaded/syncronised from a hotmail account without deleting them on the hotmail server. I want to use WLM for convenience of having everyday mail delivered on the desktop but there are certain folders in my hotmail account which I would prefer to stay online and only read by me when I log in to hotmail directly. I am using Vista so believe I do not have any choice other than to use WLM - is that correct and if not is there any other email client which would do this for me?
thanks

Create a new folder in your hotmail account,

Now try this,

Open WLM go to the folder right click properties

Untick synchronize

This should stop WLM downloading the info in that folder

Thanks for your help mfletch but I'm afraid that didnt work. It still downloaded new emails which I had put in the folder through hotmail. And of course it wouldnt help with the folders which already exist and are downloaded automatically. I really need something like switch identities in OE but which doesnt work in vista.
Any other suggestions?
