Hidden Folder?

I have a Lacie external disk- on it I have two folders. One has the name LACIE - the other SEPDATA. The browser lists SEPDATA as being Disk 'O' - LACIE does not appear at all (and that contains the file and partition images taken by Acronis)

Acronis lists LACIE, so does PartitionMagic. Whereas SEPDATA is shown with 'O' in brackets, LACIE merely has an '*'

It would appear perhaps, that in my efforts to stop the kids messing with this folder, I may have hidden it - but, if I did, then I've forgotten how I did it! Anyone know what I do to make the folder visible? I'm guessing that the asterisk means that it is not visible.

It seems that it was originally under the drive letter G - for some reason, although it listed G in explorer as a removable drive this was a 'dead' (?). I have, by using PartitionMagic, changed the drice letter and, voila, it's reappeared - but I wonder how this became necessary?
