I hav a problem with the shortcut keys on a wireless keyboard not working on a winXP pro SP3 system. The HID service is set to automatic but is not starting. The RPC service is running. When trying to start the hid service I get ERROR 2 not able to find file win\system 32\svchost.exe -k netsves. I have run SFC /scannow and it finds no errors. Where can I find the missing file?

Would a system restore to a time it was working solve the problem.

Hasn't worked since getting the wireless keyboard.

Have you tried reloading the drivers for the keyboard?

No drivers with keyboard (Logitech) as MS drivers are all that are needed. Tried uninstalling in 'devices' and allowing reinstall on reboot but not solved problem.
