Hi-Speed usb host controller (sony DSC-v1)

I have a Sony DSC-v1 which uses Sony image transfer to donload images to my computer via usb.

It works, but XP pro tells me that the DSC is a high usb speed device plugged into a non hi-speed port. Xp recommends that I should add a Hi-Speed usb host controller to the computer to obtain maximum performance.

Does this mean a driver upgrade or a hardware upgrade?

The machine is a Dell Latitude C840 laptop.

Thanks

John

it sounds like you need usb 2.0 to get the benefit of the higher speed tansfer. Since you have a laptop tese will be a little more expensive than a simple pci card click here you will also need xp sp1 installed if your running xp

you can download xp sp1 from the windows update site if you haven't already done so.

your welcome, shop around for the usb 2.0 card though, you should be able to get it cheaper than that link i provided.
