i recently change my processor from a athlon 2500xp to a athon 3200xp, the computer works but on the start up menu the computer say that i still have the 2500xp in the computer, does this mean that the computer is treating the processor like the old 1 and it is no improvement, can i change this at all???

If you access 'My Computer' then view 'System Information' under 'General' it should give your CPU speed.
As a thought - what FSB are you running? the xp2500 is a 333mhz cpu and I thought the xp3200 was a 400 mhz one ??

it could be that you mobo cant go any faster than the CPU you had, or maybe you need to tell your bios that you have a faster CPU.

what mobo have you got?

belarc advisor will tell you.
