i ran a scan on my pc it said:active x/com section of your registry refers to 1 or more invalid files this will cause applications to not run is this serious if so how can i fix it?

Ignore it then, campal, these third-party "doctors" always throw up a load of these errors, Norton Win Doctor is notorious for it, even Symantec tells you to ignore some of the errors their software throws up.

Norton System Check has been informing me for weeks that I have two invalid ActiveX components in PowerPoint.

It is unable to repair the problem and I haven't noticed it causing any problems, so I'm ignoring it especially as I can't trace them on my system...:-)
