help to transfer photos from Samsung Galaxy mini SS5570 to laptop

  Markito 11:34 08 Mar 14

I have the above fairly basic smartphone on which I have taken photos which I'd like to transfer to my Windows 8.1 laptop. When I connect the phone to the laptop, I get a "hysterical" buzzing sound from the phone. It also seems the computer cannot "add the device" either and fails to recognise it.

I have heard of something called Samsung Kies. Is this what I need to install on my laptop in order for it to both recognise the phone and to accept the uploading of photos? Or is there another solution?

Thanks in advance of your help.

Mole, even with Bluetooth enabled on my laptop and my phone, when I try to send rhe photos it fails, even with the phone device installed on my laptop.

Is there any way of using an "import" command from my laptop intead of trying to "share" the photos from the phone end?
