I have just got myself a new Intel Pentium D 925 CPU which I put in my motherboard and then fitted the heatsink and fan the came with it.

After attaching the heatsink / fan I noticed that i could get the power connection nearer its socket on the motherboard. so I took the heatsink off to turn it around.

I NEVER TURNED THE PC ON.

The thermal pad on the heatsink looks fine and theres a bit of sticky residue on the CPU. Will this be ok to use or should I replace the thermal pad with a new one. REMEMBER, I NEVER TURNED THE PC ON, so no heat as been applied to the thermal pad.

Anyone have any advice on this. PLEASE. And thanks in advance.

Yes it should be OK. Check temps after starting
