Help with Scanning

I have a form which I want to scan in so I have it on my computer so I can print of as and when. The problem is when I scan it in it copies all the writing ok but not the lines and boxes that the words are in. The copy I am scanning is nice and bold so I don't understand. Please help as I need it for work tomorrow. Scanner is a Lexmark X2230 and I have office 2003. Thanks.

I would suggest you muck about with the contrast settings. I would think that if your scanner can't detect the lines its just that they are too faint, if you alter the contrast it should then pick up the lines.

it can detect a few of the lines going across but none of the ones going down.

If it were me I would get a black biro and a ruler.

Draw over the boxes to make the lines thicker.

It may be due to the fact that many scanners have a better horizontal rezolution than a vertical resolution. In other words it will pick up very small horizontal lines, but wont pick up the same sized lines vertically.

Tried that and it still won't work. This is so frustrating! Any more advice?

What type of image have you set scanner tp?

Photo Grey scale or black and white?

Set to Black and white , and up the Res to 400

Does your Scanner have 'Line Art' listed in the images? Use that at high resolution if you have
