Can someone explain what a router does as i have bought one thinking that i can use my computer on wireless but looking in the pack it has two leads, a white one for the phone point and a grey for which i think goes into the back of the computer but that was why i bought it as my computer is no where near the phone!!
Any help on explaining what i do??

READING THE BOX IT SAYS PACKAGE CONTENTS: PHONE CABLE & A NETWORK CABLE - SO WHERE DOES THIS GO?

You've bought the right thing but chances are you'll need to plug the PC into the router to configure it.

Can you tell us what ISP (Internet Service provider - AOL, BT, Wanadoo etc) you are using?

ADSL or Cable?

Does you PC have a Network port and / or a wireless network card?

Network port click here for picture of one on a Lpatop.

You'll need a wireless card or USB adapter installed to link to the router wirelessly. Did you get one of those?

Netowrk port - looks like a modem port but bigger - has this symbol - click here
