Help required to ID Memory

I have x2 Samsung labled identical DIMMS with the following numbers on and I am trying to find out what type of memory they are.

says 256 1Rx16 PC2-3200U-333-10-C1
KR M378T3354BZ0-CCC 0514

Is this memory DDR2 ? with reading of PC2-3200U I suspect its DDR PC3200 DDR333 but confused

the DIMMS look odd with x4 big black square chips on one side different to what I have seen before.

run it, and it will tell you what type of memory you have.. this is of course if you can put the mem in to a working enviroment

found this in another forum:-

"Samsung e 256Mb 1Rx16 PC2-3200U 333-10-C1
KRH M378T3354B70-CCC 0507

I did some quick searching but nothing came up that looked vaguely similar.

The looks like a good site. certainly does not look good there. When I was looking for samsung memory I saw the reseller They actually claim that Dell computers need special chips in the memory, I will paste the paragraph below:

with this reply:-

yours is DDR2 it is "second generation DDR"

I think that is what the 'PC2' is telling you in the samsung part number

if that helps??

Interesting csqwared thought there is something strange with this memory reminds me of either Sodium or that ECC maybe, just 4 chips on one side. maybe its taken from another machine.

So your confident it is DDR2 though

Go to ebay

and search for
2 pcs Samsung PC3200U 256 MB DDR RAM

  Killo Bite 20:58 11 Sep 07

ok, now I have established its DDR2 I only thought there is the following

PC2-6400 800MHz
PC2-4200 533MHz
PC2-5300 667MHz
PC2-8500 1066MHz

Where did the PC2-3200U 333 come from is it genuine or going back to what I said earlier, made especially for DELL ?
