Hi all

My PC appears to be infected with a virus or malware, a notice came up saying i was infected, I ran my anti-virus & spyware programms which removed a number of threats. Now my opening screen shows a sign saying "Warning spywaer detected on your computer. Install an Antivirus or spyware remover to clean your computer" and every few minutes a notice comes up offering to sell Malware Protector for 49.95 dollars, also another notice saying turn on Windows Performance. but I am reluctant to atempt anything with these two as its probably a con.

i have tried removing the programs with Add/Remove
programme in control panel but they still remain. Can you help.

regards Tooley

Hi,

Download SAS Superantispyware and do a full scan in safe mode,

Reboot into SAFE MODE

1/Click Start and then click Turn Off Computer.
2/In the Turn Off Windows dialog box, click Restart, and then click OK.
3/As your computer restarts but before Windows launches, press F8 repeatedly.
4/Use the arrow keys to highlight Safe Mode, and then press ENTER.
5/If you have a dual-boot or multiple-boot system, choose the installation that you need to access using the arrow keys, and then press ENTER.
Note: If Windows launches before you can choose a safe mode, restart your computer and try again
PS/ Sometimes it maybe the F5 key

Hi,

Thanks mfletch & ICF, I have loaded & run both these programs but still still get the two screen shots popping up from time to time, otherwise the computer is working OK just annoying. Is there a file anywhere in my system I can delate, or any other ideas.
