Help with a PowerPoint animation... please

Currently using PP 2003. And reasonably proficient - until now.

One of my slides has an mpg clip in it. No problem so far.

However, and despite various attempts, I cannot achieve my end aim of...

I would like the .mpg to come in as a fade and then exit as a fade.

Any ideas please?

Hi,

Trying to understand what you are trying to do...

Do you mean visualy fade it as the show ends so that it fades the sound out as well as the vusial ???

Sorry it was a bit vague. Currently...

When the slide advances to the one with the mpg on it, I use a black mask with a fade transition to 'black out' the part of the frame that I'm using.

The mpg plays, and disappears as soon as it's finished.

The mask then fades out ready for transition to the next slide.

All that looks quite smooth.

But... the mpg appearance and disappearance at stop and start is instant. I would like it to fade in and out all nice, neat and tidy.

But, I'm still experimenting and trying various settings. Sad, isn't it?

Used Windows Movie Maker , added a black front and end with a dissolve transition and it works.

(For some reason, Movie Maker ignored a 'fade in'!)

Sorted.
