HELP! Pop-ups in Internet Explorer

windows xp
aol 9 broadband (ie, i dont use internet explorer)

i started getting loads of pop-ups from internet explorer yesterday, so i used ad-aware and got rid of everything it found, then used norton and that found nothing.

i then went into add/remove programs and unistalled everything i didn't know and need. and i did find some 'shopping' crap on it.

now, when using aol (and not even got a internet explorer window open) i am getting few pop-ups.

HOW DO I TURN THEM OFF!

i can't do anything!
programs including 'virtual bouncer' keep re-installing themselves on the computer even when i delete them and use remove programs. ad-aware 6 and norton anti-virus are not picking anything up. what's blimmin going on? i do a radio show from this computer once a week and im panicking now!!

it looks like you may need to click here and download HijackThis.

Put it in its own folder (Program Files/HijackThis) for example.

Run the program and post the result here- hopefully the forum's resident expert, Nellie2, will be able to advise you further.

Forgot to mention there's an 800 word limit per post on this forum.

If your log file is large, you may have to post it in sections.

  Peter C 23:50 26 Dec 04

it wont let me post any more! lol

  pc moron 23:59 26 Dec 04

Break the file into sections (Edit Copy/Edit Paste) and post one bit at a time.

If you press Enter twice after each line it will make it much easier to read on this forum.
