Help please

Am not much good at fixing my computer problems i hope someone can help me here. I am trying to load a scanner program onto my pc but i get a window up saying C:/windows\system32\autoexec.nt the system file is not suitable for running MS-DOS and Microsolf Windows applications.... Am running window s XP Pro if that matters any. If you can help i would be grateful Thanks..

Note: where it says "1. Insert the CD into the CD drive or DVD drive. " it means your Windows XP CD.

How old is the scanner and related software, also it looks like you have XP configured to ntfs file system, the same system that win nt and win2000 run on. A good and stable system but if your scanner software was written to use the fat32 system then that is where the problem my lie. Check the manufactures web site to see if there are any updated drivers for that scanner. Hope this helps.
