I have a Windows 2000 Pro Machine that when you run or install some exe the pc reboots of it's own accord, looks like it's going to a blue screen just before it goes black and starts up again.

Please Help

Look in the advent log it should show why you are rebooting or at the very least give you a clue.

The Computer Browser service terminated with service-specific error 2550.

I've checked this out, and changed something in the registry thats suppose to fix it but i'm still getting the error I have a mini dump file which i'm trying to download a debugger to open

advent log?

I assume you mean eventvwr?

Click Start,
Run
Type eventvwr in the box
Click OK

Chances are the clue will be in the system log or application log.

im no expert but could this be due to the reoson that due to failure of some sort that by default (like windows xp)it will re start?
Therefore any major error occurring will result in an automatic re-boot!
to change this setting:-
>right click my computer.
>select properties.
>choose advanced tab.
>and click settings under start and recovery.
>in the dialog box , under system failure, clear the check box.
then click ok.
obviously this may not be the case for windows 2000 pro......but certainly worth a look.
It should stop you re booting but wont fix the causes of it...
best of luck Tris
