HELP - PC crashes when playing games

  WhiteViper 21:56 07 Feb 06

I have a 2 year old Evesham system with 1025mb RAM, 150 gb Hard Drive and no problems with spyware / virus infections etc.

The problem I have is that whenever I play a RAM - hungry game (Championship Manager for example) the PC will often freeze after around 30 mins of play. There is no response from the keyboard or mouse, and I have to turn the PC off and back on again.

I'm down to the bare bones in terms of applications running, so I'm pretty sure it's not a RAM issue - anyone have any ideas on what may be causing this?

Have you tried turning off all non essential services that may conflict with the game, screensavers can sometimes conflict, progs that are timed to auto scan can conflict like A/V that sort of thing..

Could be overheating.Try running with the side panel off the case.
Also,is your RAM in two sticks?Try running one stick at a time.
