Help, no power?

  Wrinkly1 08:59 12 Nov 07

After turning off pc as normal last night I turned on this morning with the following result,

Green power light glows,
CD Rom green light glows as usual,
Red "activity" light flashes,

PC then sits there with fan running, green power light on but no further action or start of POST,

Where do I start ?

Check to make sure nothing has worked lose on the mobo - RAM, sound & video cards power, IDE & SATA cables. If all OK, remove all items except power and one stick of RAM and see what happens. If still nothing, try with another stick of RAM. If still nothing suspect blown motherboard (some, I think have a replaceable fuse, but others wil have to advise on this). If POST suceeds, add one unit at a time until POST fails to identify damaged unit.

A faulty graphics card, as xania say's, check that all cables and cards are correctly seated in their respective slots...Re-boot and post back.

Thanks for advice. I think I should have placed this question in the Complete Beginners forum. This will be my first look "under the bonnet" so wish me luck
