Help? New HDD and W2K

Hope the helproom regulars can help with this one!

I have installed a new HDD (Drive D) and set up the drive with a copy of the Windows 2K o/s via the C drive. When I boot up via IDE 1, I get the message 'NTLDR is missing' and 'press any key to boot from other records'

The system then finds IDE 0 and then I am presented with 2 O/S choices. 1 takes me into the D drive and the 2 into the C drive. Both options boot up fine from that point. If I select the boot from IDE 0 in the BIOS the system boots up in the normal way.

The problem is that I want to boot straight into the O/S on the D drive via IDE 1. (to operate my sensitive work systems via a drive that does not access the internet)

Any suggestions?
