Hi I have my dell laptop on an adsl wireless d link - my partner has bought a new wireless lap top and is having problems trying to get on the internet.

I would assume my adsl would show so that i could put my password in his connection and be able to link it up so he can get online.

However, a bt wireless connection is showing which isnt mine and mine is nowhere to be seen.

Could it be that i am on windows xp and his new lap top is windows vista?

Help we have been pulling our hair out since Saturday, I may be a bit thick but I would have assumed it would have been much easier to get him online. Any advice would be greatly appreciated - thanks

Bessie

The BT connection is probably from the neighbours. Your friends connection has a different password to you. Yours probably won't show because you are on it anyway.

The router may need Vista drivers. Make and Model, please.

Thanks Graham, the router is a D-Link ADSL router with Wireless Lan access & Built-in 4 port switch. Hope this helps.
