Can anyone give me a simple explanation on how to network a windows 98 computer to a windows 2000 computer. All network cards are installed and also the cat5 cable connected. Windows 2000 (the host) has already been set up to share its connection (this was done some time ago and both computers where surfing quite happily) Win98 was reformatted but for some reason i cannot configure windows 98 computer. Please heeeeeeellllppppp!!!!!!

Last week I had the same problem. I found (in device manager) that the drivers for the NIC had not been re-installed (now who could have forgotten to do that!).

Also the workgroup and client needs to be the same.

At that point, if I remember right, I managed to get connected.

Hope it helps.
