Hi just got my new PC from PC Specialist and I ordered it without a graphics card cause I wanted to get one myself.

Still what I wanted to ask is, will it still boot up even though I didn't order the graphics card, I did buy the windows xp home OS with it. I don't want to install my new graphics card if it will make the warranty not valid. I don't know what to do for the best and would appreciate any advice.

If you have no Gfx card, you have no way of connecting your monitor to the computer, and therefore no way of seeing whats going on. Buy and put a Gfx card in before you boot up is my advice.

Have you onboard Gfx?

It will boot up if the M/B has onboard graphics, look on the back to see if you have a VGA connector.

Installing your own graphics card should not invalidate your warranty, you could always check with your supplier for confirmation.

As already said check to see if you have a VGA connector if so this would suggest you have onboard graphics, as to fitting your own graphics card this is a bit of a grey area as to whether this would invalidate your warranty, many manufacturers now accept that people are going to upgrade their computers themselves with more memory etc and allow for this but also as already said better to check the small print or with PC Specialist.

The whole concept of IBM when they introduced the Personal Computer was for it to be versatile and upgradable.

Commercial builders who put restrictions on opening a computer case are going totally against the IBM philosophy.
