As I did not get a reply I continued to investigate and found on microsoft database that it is a corrupt Hhctrl windows system file. I then had to discover how to extract from the win98 disc and replace. It also said if I had a later version of explorer(have 6) I could get the file from there. Anyway, I could not work this out so I extracted from the original disc.

Welll !!! it worked !! not sure if I should still go fir the later version though ????
