Hi,
I have the following......
Sound Blaster Audigy se sound card and Logitech x-120 speakers.

I have tried all settings and sound modes with the Sound Blaster software to improve the quality, but it still sounds slightly off.

Some times when the speakers are on 50-70% volume, the sound is very distorted .

Its difficult to explain, but I'm not happy with the overall sound.

Can anyone offer any tips on improving the sound quality please.

Cheers

Logitech X-120 Speaker System

5 watts RMS power (2.5 watts x 2) $7.99

At 50-70% volume the sound will always sound distorted

You need to get a descent set of speakers if you want quality sound

Take a look at the following

Logitech X-210 2.1 25W Speakers £23.99 inc VAT

Miscosaver 5.1 Subwoofer Speaker System £25.89 inc VAT

Hi ICF,I have tried adjusting all the settings, still no real improvement, thanks for the advice.

Hi ambra4,The speakers were OK when I used the on-board sound, and I did buy another set of Logitech speakers click here|cat_10198997|PC+speakers|10199134/Trail/searchtext%3ESPEAKERS.htm ,but the sound was just as bad.
From the speakers you have listed, which ones would be the better buy please.

Cheers

WIN XP,I have downloaded the latest driver, still sound improvement .

I agree with regards to buying cheap products, but I bought the speakers about 4 years ago,I thought £19.99 was expensive for a set of PC speakers.

Thanks for the help

doubt its drivers with xp

i havent got any expensive speakers but head/earphones i have!!

is there some sort of eq you have on? doubtful but maybe

perhaps the creative card tries to deliver more bass but the speakers cnt deal with it?

I just bought a amplifier and speakers from a car boot for a fiver (Sharp Manf). Came from an old tower system.

Use onboard sound linked to amp. Fab quality for next to no cost.
