Help - How to open a Word file in VBA for Excel

  Newuser3443 21:16 24 Oct 05

I have a macro in Excel (without going in to long detail it does need to be in Excel), the start of which requests a file name from the user and validates that it exists.

From the Excel macro I know how to open Word, but I don't know how to get Word to open my text file document from the same Excel macro.

Any asssistance would be much appreciated.

Thanks, Rob

but just to be clear, when you say;

"how to get Word to open my text file document from the same Excel macro"

does "text file document" mean a word document?

You want a macro to run in Excel, and this macro checks if a document exists, and if it does then it opens said document in WORD.

Have I got that correct?
