Help - How to open a Word file in VBA for Excel

I have a macro in Excel (without going in to long detail it does need to be in Excel), the start of which requests a file name from the user and validates that it exists.

From the Excel macro I know how to open Word, but I don't know how to get Word to open my text file document from the same Excel macro.

Any asssistance would be much appreciated.

does "text file document" mean a word document?

You want a macro to run in Excel, and this macro checks if a document exists, and if it does then it opens said document in WORD.

Have I got that correct?
