Help Bootmgr Compressed

Hi all my son has a advent 4211 netbook running windows xp and has been messing about with it and now it keeps saying bootmgr compressed press ctrl alt del to restart i ahve done this several times but just keeps comeing up the same, i did not make the recovery disk either, is there any way of sorting this out.

ThHe error usually occurs because the C drive has been compressed. As far as I am aware XP uses NTLDR rather than Boot Manager which is Vista related.
It may be worth trying the NTLDR fix from click here If this works and allows XP to boot,remove the tick from 'Compress this drive to save space' from the properties of the C drive
