help with bios

hi. i am trying to do a clean install of xp on my pc its a packard bell iMedia. i have lost the recovery cd so im trying to format the harddrive useing win xp cd but i cant get the pc to boot from cd. i can get to the bios ok put cant navigate around as the keybord dont work when im in the bios. i have tried three keybords put still no luck anyone now how i can get round this meny thanks

u have to use a ps/2 keyboard

yep, I can vouch for that. USB isn't generally enabled until windows is up and running.

you could try reseting bios to default setting using the jumper on the motherboard. the keyboard may work then.

as the pc is set to boot from floopy disc is there way i can boot form a floopy to install xp. meny thanks
