Insert your winXP cd and see if there's recovery options on there.

Also you could try tapping the F8 key at start up and selecting ( last known good configuration ) then hit the Enter key.

A registry fixer will not help you. For future reference you should ALWAYS back up your registry BEFORE altering it. Can you remember exactly what you deleted and the exact location in the registry? Other than that you will have to repair windows via the cd

It may not be necessary to do a full system repair. Put the XP cd in the drive, let it auto run & exit, now go to start/run and type sfc /scannow this will scan for altered or missing files & should hopefully solve your problem ( if it asks for the cd at any time press OK )

Boot from the Windows XP CD.

Let the Setup go through the first part of the Installation procedure.

When you come to the screen in which it says "Welcome to Setup." press Enter to Setup Windows XP.

Press F8 to agree to the End User License.

Let the Setup search your system for previous versions of Windows.

When the Setup is finished searching your system, select your Windows XP Installation and press the R key on your keyboard to start the Repair Procedure.

Setup will delete all major system files and then replace them with new copies.

You will have to download all of the updates from Microsoft Windows Update again because it replaces the files.
