I have a lap top and i am trying to get the head phone socket working. I know that may sound like an easy task but there you go. I dont know how to activate it through xp or do i activate it through my lap top?

Its an Advent 7037, yep checked the volume (that is the kind of ting i would do!) I think it might have something to do with the profile. I have a realtek sound card installed if that makes any difference.

Right click the volume icon in the task bar and choose open 'Adjust Audio Properties' scroll to 'Speaker settings' and choose advanced. there you will see a box and Underspeaker setting. you have the option here to choose what type of speakers/headphones etc.

Hope that helps.
