HDMI connection no longer working

Hi, Last night my pc and monitor connected via HDMI lead (to AMD Radeon R7200 graphics card) were working just fine. This morning, I turned on my pc, but NO SIGNAL came to view. I connected the HDMI lead to the onboard graphics card, still same issue. So when I connected it to the tv (AMD card slot), it did show a distorted picture and nothing more. I have no issues when connecting through VGA (AMD card to same monitor). Any ideas what might be wrong?

try another lead

also try removing and refitting the video card to remake the connections

see if either makes a difference.

I did use another HDMI lead, it was the first thing I did, but no difference. I will today remove and refit the video card and then update on how it goes.
