hdd swap over advise

  Newuser2 19:41 06 Jun 06

I'm going to take my existing 60GB HDD which I use for backup & put it into an external caddy & install a new 120 GB HDD in its place in the tower. I've done this before but for the life of me I cannot remember if there is anything I have to do re removing items etc. in add & remove hardware.

Nothing like that is necessary if they are regular ide drives - take it out, replace it and format the new one when installed.

To see the new one, you may need to go into disk management

Thanks DS. The fact that I don't have to do anything is probably the reason why I couldn't remember what to do.
